| Recently named a ‘Director to Watch’ by movieScope magazine, film director Armen Antranikian was born in Germany in 1984. Inspired by his father’s Super 8 home movies, he made his first films while at school near Hamburg. After high school, he interned at the German production companies Embassy of Dreams and Tempomedia. In 2006, Armen moved to London. After a year’s course at the Met Film School, based at Ealing Studios, he enrolled at the Skillset Screen Academy at LCC, part of the University of the Arts London. Having learned from film professionals like Jack Garfein, Anthony Dod Mantle and Iain Smith, he graduated in 2009 with First Class Honours. Armen has completed a string of successful films, some of which have been shown at renowned festivals and on television. One-Minute Guide to Planet Earth won a Jury Commendation at Filminute, the international one-minute film festival. Kubrick, a short film commissioned by Channel 4, premiered as part of the Stanley Kubrick season. During his visit to the Cannes Film Festival in 2008, Armen sold two of his films to global distributor Ouat Media. Currently, he is working on a short film titled Alice Alive – a sci-fi romantic comedy about a teenage boy and female android. He is also developing his first feature project – a psychological thriller set around a single location. |
